For this painting, I chose the “ugliest” colors I could: neon yellow, bright red and neon green, blood red and “baby vomit” green. I was tired of always having to be pretty, to be palatable. The colors and contrast are so bright that it actually hurts your eyes to stare at the painting for a long time.
